Throwing parts at it rather than actually figuring out what is wrong and then fixing it. My dad thought his mechanics were awesome and happily took our cars to them for the same problems over and over and over. I was well into my 20s before I found a good mechanic and realized you shouldnt be seeing your mechanic that often if theyre good.

I once did a bit of tutoring for folk, and I remember one lady asked how she could open Word. So I told her to move the mouse pointer over the Word Icon and double click on it, to which she replied "Oh no, I can't do that. I don't like those mice thingies..."
